Philosophy

Today in class we continued talking about philosophy, synchronicity and deja vu.

Starting a Project

Today in class we started a project. My group is focusing on war and how the Gods were involved. I also mentioned to Mr. Schick about a cool video about the history of the world. This is the video (clean version) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzAOhyOtfqc

Plato and Aristotle

Today in class I yelled at Mr. Schick for using improper grammar. Then we talked about Socrates, Plato and Aristotle.

Post Test

Today in class we did whatever our hearts desired until everyone finished their test. Then we reviewed it.

Review

Today in class we reviewed for our test tommorow.

Test

Today in class we we had our first test of the Western Civilization class. It was pretty easy but there were a few hard parts.

Greece the Movie

Today in class we watched a movie about Greece. It was about the different rulers of Greece and what they did. Athens was a major city for the Greeks. It wasn't a giant city like Manhattan, however, it was smaller towns.

Greek's Great Gods

Today in class we kept talking about the Greek gods and goddesses. Zeus was the king of all gods and was the god of lightning and thunder. Aphrodite was the god of beauty and love. Athena was the goddess of war and peace (ironic, isn't it). The Greeks had an interesting way of battle which involved holding spears.

S e n d H e l p

So I'm in class right now and am gonna get yelled at if I speak, sorry, Mr. Schick. I don't know what else to write for this blog because nothing else is happening; I'm actually kinda scared.

Greek Gods and Goddesses

Today in class we talked about the different Greek gods and goddesses but soon after sidetracked to a conversation about what religions are correct and which aren't. That slowly devolved into us talking about Ryan Gosling's Santa cult (Thanks, Frankie). Basically, Mr. Schick said that he doesn't like to talk about Greek mythology too much because it didn't provably happen. I argued that you could say that about any religion so it spiraled into stuff about how you really can't believe anything anyone says because no one really knows the truth to anything.

Project Day 2

Today in class we continued to work on our projects and have to finish them up for homework, my group has to do the overview, meaning we have to basically write about everything that everyone else is doing. Here's a glimpse: Athens Greece was the first place ever to have a Democracy, which was a big deal because the way that our Country is run Today, is based off of the success of the Greek Democracy. In a Democracy the power is given to the people and not just the government or the supreme leader. Although in Greek society you could only vote as a citizen, but in order to be a citizen in Ancient Greece, you had to be a male landowner, who was born in Greece.

Project, Day 1

Today in class we started a project. We essentially have to make a text book about ancient Greece. Here is a sample: The world’s greatest civilizations have all been born near waterways, and Greece is not an exception. From the Mesopotamians, to the Egyptians, and to the Indians and Chinese, all were located on waterways. For example, the Chinese had the Huang He River, the Indians had the Indus River, and the Egyptians had the Nile. The Greeks, however had the Mediterranean Sea which was their form of trade, which kept them thriving.
